I’m looking forward to being on the panel of a session at the Treasury in Housing Conference where we’ll be discussing how treasury activity in other sectors might be relevant to what we do in the housing sector and exploring whether there’s anything we can learn from or debate with treasurers and investors in other sectors. In a world where we’re all spending more of our personal and professional lives online it’s increasingly important that we don’t risk falling into echo chambers. It’s too easy to just look at what’s nearest to us for comparison when a broader view could be informative and valuable. We need to make the effort to seek out views and experiences that might be different from our own and I hope that our session will offer that.

Our panel is a mixture of people from in and out of sector, investors and ratings experts, so I’m looking forward to hearing some different views (whether I agree with them or not!). We’ll be talking about the relative risks and benefits of different sectors, how that influences debt pricing and how other sectors diversify their funding streams.

So, join me in looking up, looking out, discussing, connecting and debating at the NHF Treasury in Housing Conference.
